July 5 / Day 45 / Campbellford to Hastings / 17.6 NM

July 5 / Day 40 / Campbellford to Hastings

Went through locks 13 – 18 with a large trawler in front, then Gump Stump in front of us and a small 1963 hand built wooden boat, Lei-Els-Den, rafted up to us bringing up the rear.

This little boat was beautiful.  It was built by the present owner’s grandfather in his garage and took four years to complete.  It was crewed by a young couple and their two year old daughter on holiday.

Some scenes along the Trent Severn

We arrived at the Hastings Village Marina about 3:30.  Phil from Fins and Jim from Hour Plan caught our lines as they are fast boats and had arrived much earlier than us.

Docktails on Observer with Fins, Hour Plan and Seascape before we all walked into town for dinner at McGillicafey’s.  Fun night!
