Thursday 4/05 up and off the dock this morning at
7:40. It's 49 degrees & sunny. We pushed our way North on the ICW, passing interesting sights and beautiful homes.

I guess that is one way to move your belongings. |
We arrived in beautiful Beaufort, S.C. about 1:30.

Snug in our slip for the night. |
There are several Loopers here including Herb, the infamous harbor host
of Tarpon Springs, FL who is on his second time around the Loop solo. . .on a
53 footer!.
We got the bikes out and did
a fantastic tour of the historic district of Beaufort.
Wow - we saw some wonderful homes, churches and trees.
Every once in a while we'd see one for sale and look up the specs on
Realtor.com.
We could live here. . .but
we won't, at least not yet!

We met Ken of the sailboat Tempest in Jekyll Island a few
days back. He told us about a wonderful
restaurant he enjoys here in Beaufort and invited us to join him and his wife
Marie for dinner there tonight. Ken got
us a reservation at The Old Bull Tavern (#1 out of 163 on Trip Advisor) despite
there being no reservations available.
It was a great venue which included walking through a telephone booth to
enter the back room. We had a whole room
to ourselves. We were attentively served
delicious dinners of Lamb shank and soft shell crab and then the chef / owner
Oscar came by to catch up with Marie and Ken and introduce himself to us. We had a great time sharing our seafaring
adventures with Ken & Marie. It was
a perfect evening in a fabulous town.
We'll be back.
