April 12 / Day 326 / North Myrtle Beach to Southport / 37 NM

Thurs 4/12   Up and out @ 8:00 sunny but a bit cool.  We led the way with Island Girl in our wake. We found one skinny spot and spent a little time maneuvering to get off some sand out from under our keel.  Along the way, we passed some interesting sights and more beautiful homes.

Pretty scenery

If you look closely, this dock house is designed like the back of a trawler

We eventually made it to Southport, NC.  Yes, we entered North Carolina today.  It's a very nice marina in a very pretty town.

Tim did a little exploring on the bike.  While walking  Millie around the docks, I ran into Eddy the infamous Looper who helps everyone make weather decisions about when to cross the Gulf of Mexico.  We had docktails just off OBSERVER with Mary & Tim of  NELLIE MAY (who we have not seen since Chattanooga) and Karen and Ken of ISLAND GIRL.
