March 1 - 4 / Day 284 - 287 / Fort Lauderdale to Lighthouse Point

This is a photo of one of the single family homes we passed on the ICW this morning
Thursday 3/1  We got a bit of a late start leaving Fort Lauderdale at 10:30 for the a quick ride north on the ICW, arriving at the Lighthouse Point Yacht Club at 1:00.While LPYC is a members only, private club, they welcome transients when space allows.  And when I say welcome, I mean really welcome them.  Everyone, from Zach, the marina and facilities director to the service personnel to the club members were all so gracious and could not do enough to make us feel at home.  Zach even offered to let us borrow his car for a grocery run!

Friday 3/02 beautiful day here in Lighthouse, Fl.  Checked in with family and co-workers at home to find out about the Nor'easter battering Massachusetts.  Got the bikes off and did a very efficient shopping spree which included Petco, TJ Max & Publix.  Got in a swim in the YC's pool and grilled a nice pork tenderloin on the grill.

Beautiful full moon off our stern

Saturday 3/03 kind of a boring day for our blog followers.  Bike ride, big exterior boat wash for OBSERVER and left overs.

Sunday 3/04 bike ride and a trip to 'Boat Owners Warehouse'.  We read in the Globe that Sunday Brunch is the 'new Saturday Night', so we went to our adopted Yacht Club here at Lighthouse Point.  The Brunch was delicious and relaxing though not really well attended.

We squared away for our stay here at the marina so we are all set to go tomorrow morning.  Got in a real nice walk around the abutting neighborhood with Millie.  She met a couple 'dog friends';a little socializing is better than none at all:)
