February 21 / Day 276 / Marathon to Islamorada

Wednesday 2/21   So we have plans to meet Kemp (college buddy ) and Edith in Coral Gables on Thursday.  The wind has been quite  strong - 15 + knots out of the east and although we are traveling west of the Keys (with some protection), Biscayne Bay looks quite exposed and there are a lot of marinas with open spots along the way we are headed.  After consulting with many, and finding some with local knowledge, we decided to go for it.  We dropped our lines at 9:30 and traveled through some skinny (shallow) water all day.  There was lots of spray but no big waves.  We arrived at Plantation Harbor Yacht Marina about 2:00.  It is a really nice spot.  They just so happen to have an Olympic (50 meter) pool adjacent to the marina so Tim got in a workout.  We enjoyed a nice dinner on board.

Beautiful trip up
