November 6 / Day 169 / Bobby's Fish Camp to Tensas River Anchorage / 71.8 NM

Scott / Ramble On called the lockmaster at the Coffeeville Lock and they thought they could lock us through at 6:30 am.  There ended up being 14 of us in that lock. This is our last lock on the western rivers!

It will be awhile before we see this scenario again

Actually, on our way around back to Massachusetts there will only be one other lock in Virginia.

We encountered a decent amount of barge traffic

and arrived at the Tensas River anchorage at 3:30.

At anchor on the Tensas River

This area of the river is not "dog to shore friendly'" between the alligators, wild boar and hunters of wild boar combined with muddy shores, Millie might need some Depends.  I put Millie in the dinghy and sped up to a boat ramp 2 miles north - mission accomplished. I decided that Millie could forego the evening walk.  We enjoyed a nice quiet night at anchor - beautiful sunset and great meal on board.

Beautiful sunset

Grilled beef tenderloin with peppers, onions and mushrooms, Canada potatoes and grilled asparagus.
