Up and off the dock at 6:45 to continue our course

Fort Walton Free Dock as we departed this morning |
|
Fort Walton is known as the Emerald Coast |
Ultimately, we are headed to
Carabelle. This is where we will make
an overnight crossing from there to Tarpon Springs. It's about 170 miles and you do not want to
arrive at sunrise as the sun will be in our line of sight and the harbor
entrance is littered with crab traps.
Once we get to Carabelle, we will wait for a weather window to cross with
as little winds and wave action as possible.
The highlight of our day and maybe even our trip so far were the dolphins
swimming and jumping through our wake.
All these photos were taken by Alice from Observer today - Wow:

This guy came out of nowhere only about 2 feet away from where I was standing on the stern. |
|
I saw this dolphin as we were coming into the harbor and I was putting the bow line on. I don't know how long he had been leading the way, but he stayed with us to the mouth of the channel. |
We arrived at our destination for the day Panama City
Marina about 2:30. We were welcomed by a
very helpful crew (retirees). Did a tour
around the area on the bike and a great dinner at Joe's Bayou and the Patriots
won!

One last photo taken by Paige of a dolphin jumping in our wake. |
