April 29 - 30 / Day 343 - 344 / York to Deltaville

Sunday  4/29   Our plan is to continue north again today.  There is a noticeable NW wind in the marina and not being familiar with local conditions we are speculating about what we will find out on Chesapeake Bay.  Wind predictions are that it is supposed to calm down a bit after 1:00. We pushed off from the dock at 10 and it ended up being a bit sloppier out there than we prefer.  We had 2-3' waves with an occasional 5'.  There were a couple other boats out there with us also heading north; we aren't the only crazy ones.  We arrived at the marina about 3:15, got settled, enjoyed on shore showers at the marina bathrooms and made dinner (tacos) on board.  BTW the wind never did calm down in the afternoon.  In fact, we think it picked up!

Monday 4/30   We were on the fence again about heading out into the bay with strong winds.  We are passing the mouth of the Potomic as well with lots of running room for NW winds.  We decided to stay put and we are glad we did.  We borrowed the courtesy car and went into Deltaville and did some provisioning, took Millie for a good walk, some boat chores and relaxed with some reading.  We grilled a couple steaks and and enjoyed dinner on board.
