April 28 / Day 342 / Chesapeake to York /

Saturday 4/28   We shoved off about 8:30 and topped off our fuel tanks before catching the 9:00 bridge opening and then immediate Great Bridge lock (OUR LAST LOCK OF THE LOOP)!

We passed some interesting scenery on our way to Norfolk.

We had to slow our passage through Norfolk by the Naval ships.
Norfolk Ship Yard

Waterside Marina where the AGLCA Spring Rendezvous begins Monday

Loved these 3 tugs lined up

We passed this waterfront festival - lots of action

We hit Chesapeake Bay on with great conditions and arrived at York River Yacht Haven @ 3:45.  Its a very large marina in a protected area.

Just entering the Chesapeake Bay

Not quite sure what to make of this

View from our stern.  There was a large party going on right behind the trees by the beach with some excellent live music that played all afternoon.

View from our port

and the view from our bow

After checking in and getting settled we took a little cocktail cruise up Sarah Creek checking out this beautiful area.  We had dinner at the on side restaurant - the York River Oyster Co.; we had a nice meal on the outside deck overlooking the marina.

Pretty houses with lovely landscaping

This seemed completely out of place with the surrounding area
