January 7 - 8 / Day 231 - 232 / Sanibel to Naples

Sunday 1/07.   At low tide yesterday mid morning we were sitting in the mud.  The dockmaster suggested we head out by 8:00 am, so we did.  We still hit a bit of mud going through the channel exiting the marina.  The wind was blowing 15 knots. ENE; the waves hit us in the stern starboard quarter but were not too bad as they were coming off land.  We entered Gordon Pass about 11:30 and made our way up the inland waterway of Naples to the Naples Boat Club.  We have a prime spot with great views of the river boat traffic.  Tim got out on the bike to tour around the Naples bike trails (very bike friendly).  We have spent quite a bit of time here in Winters past as Tim's parents had a house in Marco Island and we visited Naples frequently.  It is a very wealthy and beautiful community.  Two examples I had to adjust the upper price limit to four million on my Realtor app to see what properties were on the market AND we saw our first Bentley SUV (starting price $230,000).  We hit an artist show on 5th avenue - lots of very unique items here. . .kind of glad we are on a boat with little storage or we would have been tempted to buy a few things.  We used the marina grill to cook our pork loin and enjoyed our view from Observer's slip.

Monday 1/08. We did a bit of a walk around town interspersing use of the Marina's free laundry with running some errands and enjoying the sights of Naples.  The hi-light of our day was our dinner at Michelbobs Ribs.  When Tim's parents had their house in Marco Island we always made trip to Naples for this restaurant and their ribs.  TULIP FED HOGS FROM THE NETHERLANDS and cooked to perfection.  We ship them home on special occasions a couple times / year, but they are even better in person - Wow did we enjoy that.

Since we can't bring racks of ribs home with us, we bought every flavor of their sauce
