July 29 / Day 69 / Blind River to Bruce Mines / 41 NM

Off the dock a bit before 9.  Sun is out and we have a light breeze at our bow.  We had a nice 35 mile trip over to Bruce Mines.

It took several attempts to get the marina on the phone the day before.  Alice finally reached someone this morning.  Upon arrival we radioed to get slip location, no response.  Then we called, no response.  We circled by the fuel dock and there were three teenagers with uniformed t-shirts and life jackets on just waiting for us . . .but apparently not able to use the phone or radio?

After we settled in we took a walk through town and picked up a few groceries.

Tim took the paddle board out for a spin.

We had a nice pork loin on the grill. It's a lovely quiet spot.

We are pretty sure we were the only people spending the night in this small place.

The only boat in the Marina with anyone on it.

The town's motto is "Arrive as a tourist, leave a friend". . .
