January 5-6 / Day 229 - 230 / Legacy Harbour Marina to Sanibel Island

1/05 Friday - We are on the move again!  This morning, we called the Sanibel Marina to check whether their situation had improved and it had.  The dock master encouraged us to make our way over.  About 12:30 we cast off our lines at Legacy Harbor Marina headed over to City of Ft. Meyers Marina to top off our diesel tanks and headed down the river towards Sanibel.  A couple hours later we tried contacting the marina on the VHF for our slip assignment only to find the slip had a boat in it.  Apparently some guy in a run about just pulled in, went to the beach and left his boat in fate's hands.  The marina folks towed the offender over to the fuel dock and we backed right in.  This marina is owned by the same folks who own Ireland Boat Sales - who are a dealer for Back Cove Yachts and there are lots of them in this marina.  We had an early dinner at Grandma Dots restaurant (right at the marina); it was a great meal. December 3 - January 4 / Day 196 - 228 /Legacy Harbor Marina

December 3.  We left Salty Sam's Marina about 9 and had a three hour trip over to Legacy Harbour Marina in Ft. Meyers  We've heard wonderful things about this marina and reality exceeded our expectations.  There are a number of boats here we've crossed paths with at some point along our Loop.  We have a reservation here for the month of December and will leave Observer here when we make our trip home for the holidays.  There are some beautiful boats (including a couple American Tugs) here and one of the first things we did after securing our lines was to walk the docks and check them all out.   Approaching Fort Myers Legacy Harbour Marina Inside the marina basin We are stern in and this is the view from the bow This is the view from our stern As we get settled here in our slip right next to Golden, we once again reflect on how fortunate and blessed we are to be on this fabulous adventure.  We will be posting pe...
